ubuntu 7.10 und Flash-Plugin

Wer vor einiger Zeit ubuntu 7.10 installiert hat und nun plötzlich merkt, dass er gerne eine Flash-Plugin hätte, hat ein kleines Problem. Das installieren von flashplugin-nonfree mit synaptic sieht ganz normal und erfolgreich aus, ist es aber nicht. Installiert man es auf der konsole mit apt-get sieht man sofort das Problem:
Download done.
md5sum mismatch install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz
The Flash plugin is NOT installed.

Was kann man tun ?
Das Plugin manuell bei Adobe ‘runterladen, auspacken und die Datei libflashplayer.so
nach /usr/lib/firefox/plugins kopieren. Dann Firefox neustarten.

Oder das Ubuntu nach 8.04 upgraden. Bei mir (kubuntu) ging das relativ gut, andere hatten damit aber Probleme.
